GFR F.C. vs Aetos of Northern Epirus (2-1)
On Sunday, November 21 at the RENTI STAR sports’ facilities and in the context of the 5th match of the Greek Forum of Refugees’ football team for the Elite II championship of http://anexartito.com/ , an excellent match was given by two great teams.
GFR F.C. prevailed with a score of 2-1 against Aetos of Northern Epirus with an amazing goal scored by George one minute before the completion of 90 minutes.
Coach Kennedy led the team with the classic 4-3-3 with Mohammed under thegoalposts, duo in the center of defense Mike and Guy Jr., Donatus on the left back and Sylvain on the right back, Ishmael as defensive – midfielder, Jordie and Jessie at number 8. In the wings, left and right were George and Alex with Francisco being the only forward. Frank and Laurent, the two brothers, both full backs, entered the match as substitutions.
The opposing team initiated the match quite strongly and was happy to take the lead early, taking advantage of the numb start of GFR F.C. From then on, the Greek Forum of Refugees reacted, realizing that it was facing an unpredictable opponent. Each claim of the ball became a duel. Shortly before the end of the first half, our team earned a penalty kick with George. The execution was undertaken by the excellent Guy Jr. for the equalizer. The superiority of GFR F.C. was obvious and was to be reflected in the score. With great passion the team put a lot of pressure to reach the second goal. Thus, in 89’ after a deep diagonal long cross by Guy Jr., George with a right, straight one-piece shot left a statue of the opponent goalkeeper and got drowned in the arms of his teammates, celebrating a great victory!
