Last Wednesday, the Greek Forum of Refugees had the pleasure of welcoming 21 students and two teachers from the Dar es Salaam International School, as part of an educational visit focusing on the refugee experience and the importance of self-advocacy.
The students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful and insightful questions about refugees, asylum procedures, and the challenges faced by displaced communities. This was followed by a hands-on workshop by the HARTS (Hands-on Refugees Talent and Sustainability) team. Four women from Afghanistan guided the students through a creative activity, teaching them how to make handcrafted bracelets.
The workshop offered a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and empowerment, showcasing the skills, creativity, and resilience of refugee women, while giving the students a memorable and interactive learning experience.
We warmly thank the Dar es Salaam International School for their visit and their interest in issues affecting refugee communities.
