Today, 8 October, we welcomed the European Alternatives and the TRANSEUROPA Festival organisers to our offices to prepare for the activities taking place on Saturday, 10 October. Antla Sasati from the Greek Forum of Migrants also joined the meeting.
Through our Democracy4all initiative, we are preparing for a day dedicated to political participation and voting rights. We will begin with a morning workshop, sharing experiences of self-advocacy, community organising and participation in decisions that affect our everyday lives.
In the afternoon, an open discussion with speakers from across Europe will focus on the political rights and voting rights of refugees and migrants in Europe.
Our aim is for these discussions to lead to a shared manifesto, a European call for voting rights for refugees and migrants. People who have lived in our country for years, work, pay taxes and are part of our society, yet still have no say through the ballot box in decisions that affect their lives.
We have a voice, and we demand a say in the decisions that affect our lives! Join us on Saturday, 10 October!
