Voice Of The Refugees: An Advocacy Campaign For The Social Inclusion And The Respect Of Rights Of Refugees.
Duration September 2015 to May 2016
By strengthening its advocacy capacity the project reinforces GFR primary policy: “refugees advocating and speaking for refugees”. Refugees and asylum seekers are the key actors through active participation. It aims to inform the refugees of their rights as well as presenting their situation through short films. Focus is put on raising public awareness on the extremely difficult situation in Greece for refugees, as well as deconstructing stereotypes, facilitating social participation and integration of refugees into Greek society.
- Coordination of the research and online advocacy campaign #RefugeesVoice (Refugees Community Reality, Refugees stories, Posters, Movie Integration Now).
- Meetings with communities: Acquire actual ground level information of the refugees’ situation in Greece. Bring direct support on legal and social steps (inform them on their rights and legislation) and present and promote issues met by the communities.
- 6 short film of a refugee’ recorded interviews promoting the daily life and the issues met in Greece: Video-record of Refugees talking about their daily life as refugees in Greece, promotion through an advocacy campaign, with a Law/practice data analysis within the video. Production of a final medium length-film (documentary) “Integration Now, Participation is Everything”
