The Project

This projects aims to reinforce the active participation of the communities in the confrontation of the emergencies derived from the refugee crisis by the intervention of community workers in the camp of Eleonas, Elliniko I-II-III, Sxisto,Skaramangas, and Rafina.

 

Activities

Concretely, the work of the GFR revolves around the coordination of community workers, cultural mediation and needs’ assessment of the population – asylum seekers and relocation beneficiaries.

The community workers’ main tasks include, among others, the linkage between the refugee population and UNHCR, facilitating the two-way communication by identifying vulnerable cases within the structures, conveying feedback from the population to UNHCR (through reports), sharing information concerning the population etc.
