Moments that make us proud at the Greek Forum of Refugees…

When our friends have the opportunity to make their wish come true, then in the Greek Forum of Refugees we are all happy. When, in fact, they are awarded for the result, we are thrilled…

On November 27, 2021, as part of the 12th Ethnographic Film Festival hosted at the “Astor” cinema in the heart of Athens, documentaries and short films from around the world were presented. Documentaries and films that record and highlight the human experience in all its forms.

Such an event could not miss our talented friends, who participated in the short film, “Nilo”. The film portrays the life of a young woman who loves to dance, but is forced to leave Iran due to persecution, oppression and bans. Directed and written by Zahra Mojahed. The cinematography is by Jawad Jafari. Actors that participate in the film: Nasrin Sultani, Mahdia Hossaini, Vahid Omidi, Fariba Sultani, Fatima Ansari, Najma Jafari, Saber Ansari.

Zahra’s and Jawad’s film earned the trust of the European Jury which awarded them the first prize for best film.

The film “Nilo” was made with the support of the organization “Karpos” and in the context of the European project Speak – Up! Media for Inclusion, Erasmus + 2019 – 2021”.

We are sure that the best for them is still yet to come…
