Programs

Support of employability and social entrepreneurship

The project was funded by the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) https://www.uusc.org/ and focused on two goals.

On empowering and supporting women with refugee background and on activating community members residing in refugee camps, as well as, in the Urban area.

Following a series of workshops on employability issues, the aim was to provide support for business ideas developed by the participants themselves. Then, by utilising specific cognitive tools, we attempted to connect the existing skills of the participants with the demands that derived from the labour market. At the same time, the projects participants developed organisational skills that they tested in organising events, such us the International Women’s day (March 8 2020).

The project was adopted to the conditions and requirements of the pandemic period of time, completing its working cycle. In fact, with the kind support of the UUSC, part of the budget was spent to meet the needs of the financial campaign that the Greek forum of refugees initiated in order to deal with the pandemic concecuenses that affected the most vulnerable population.
