We can’t take the plane or ship, but we can take to the streets!
On Saturday noon, 9 December, refugee communities’ members gathered on Syntagma square to proceed to a symbolic march.
We can’t take the plane or ship, but we can take to the streets
The aim of this demonstration was to reassert their commitment towards Human Rights protection – in view of 10 December as Human Rights Day, especially regarding freedom of movement. Indeed, too many refugees are traπped on the Greek islands while, at the same time, the family reunification process to other EU countries has considerably slowed down.
Refugees and members of GFR, supported by the organisation To Mov, therefore engaged in a march to head towards the representation of the European Commission in Greece.
With this symbolic gesture, we want to catch public and authorities’ attention on the dire situation in which refugees are left.
EVERY DAY IS A DAY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
